only satisfied customers and satisfied suppliers can create a long-term profitable enterprise for supplier and customer
In May 2019, after many years of working for various companies, I took the plunge into self-employment.
I have more than 30 years of experience in executive positions in worldwide sales. My know-how in hard metals and heavy metals also covers recycling and logistics. My experience, together with extensive industrial and raw material contacts, are the basis for my current activities.
As an independent business partner in the area of sourcing and provision of raw materials and equipment, I establish contacts and bridges between suppliers and customers and thus contribute to an overall optimum in the supply chain.
My extensive experience has shown me that only satisfied suppliers and satisfied customers make profitable business for both sides in the long term. My task, and thus the task of ISBP, is to create a win-win situation for everyone involved in an enterprise.
I offer intensive and independent consulting for my business partners, where we openly and honestly consider all possibilities and also the risks. Of course, strict discretion is observed. These are the strengths of my small and therefore manageable company.
I cordially invite you to discuss a possible cooperation with me.
With a hearty Glück Auf,
Michael Dornhofer

Who is ISBP – Independent Supply Business Partner?
ISBP was founded in May 2019 by Michael Dornhofer, as an independent partner to the hard metal and heavy metal industries to support companies in the sourcing of raw materials and equipment, and as a consultant for raw material and recycling projects.
Is ISBP linked to any other company?
No, ISBP is independent from any other company. But for projects ISBP cooperates with partners to use their abilities and strengths.
What does ISBP do and offer?
ISBP uses its contacts and know-how to connect suppliers and customers and acts as an agent for raw materials and equipment.
Other than that, ISBP consults and accompanies raw material projects (e.g. mining, recycling) on their way to go on stream and in finding proper customers for producers.
Where do you do business and which countries do you cover with your activities?
In my previous jobs and for ISBP, I have done business in 44 countries all over the world (including most of the European countries, USA, Canada, Mexico, China, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, India, Egypt, Bolivia, Brazil, Ruanda, Burundi, DRC, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe).
But I see nearly no limit to where we could do business.
Do you have experience in consulting mining projects?
I have a degree in mining engineering from the Montan Universität in Leoben (Austria) and extended experience in negotiating off-take and long-term contracts. I was already sitting on “both sides of the table” for these types of contracts.
Do you have experience with audits and approval of suppliers?
I was frequently involved in reviewing mining and recycling operations and validating them regarding their compliance with social- and environmental obligations and the requirements of conflict free policy. I have done both, the inspections on the ground, as well as the examination of paperwork.
Do you have experience in recycling?
I have extended knowledge in the field of hard metal recycling and setting up collection and buyback programs. Additionally, I have experience and know-how in utilizing residues of the recycling process (Tungsten, Cobalt, Tantalum) and in handling of waste. I hold the accreditation as “Abfallrechtlicher Geschäftsführer” in Austria.
Do you have experience in sales and procurement of equipment and machinery?
For several years I worked as product manager for mining machines, then as a sales director for laboratory equipment worldwide. In this function I was involved in developing and designing tailormade equipment for special applications. Additionally, over many years, I was responsible for the procurement of machinery.
Does ISBP limit its activities to Tungsten and hard metals?
No! Admittedly, there is a focus on Tungsten and other raw materials for the hard metal industry (such as Cobalt, Tantalum, Titanium etc.), as I have worked in this field since 2006. I have established know-how and a wide base of contacts in that area. Due to contacts to mining companies in certain countries, other raw materials are dealt with, like Zn, Sn, Sb, Va. It is obvious that experience with conflict free policy, social responsibility, environmental issues etc. can be used with other elements, other than Tungsten, and bring added value to such projects.
In a previous position (at RioTinto), I was involved in Industry-Minerals. Other than that, I have extended experience in selling equipment and machinery for laboratories and for the mining industry.
